VISION

To be the pioneer institute of transferring coconut-based technologies to coconut growers in Sri Lanka.


MISSION

To increase productivity of coconut lands by improving knowledge, skills and attitudes of the coconut growers in the country. This is done through the strengthening of the extension staff of the Coconut Cultivation Board by providing proper trainings and also by conducting farmer participatory training programs in national level for disseminating coconut-based technologies. 


INSTITUTE

The Coconut Development Training Center (CDTC) is located within the Coconut Triangle at Bandirippuwa, Lunuwila, neighboring the Coconut Research Institute (CRI). The present objective of the CDTC is to provide comprehensive training programs to update the knowledge and skill of the personal involved in the coconut industry, including the officers of CCB, Coconut growers, processors and others interested in Coconut Cultivation. CDTC mainly focuses on in-house training to its technical and supportive staff to update their knowledge and skills thereby make efficient pathways to disseminate appropriate technologies to various stakeholders of the coconut industry. CDTC has been vested with authorization under the registration of institutes and examination (Interim) regulation, 1991 under Tertiary and Vocational Education Act no. 20 of 1990.
